In just 2 months time, I will have completed 16 years as the rabbi of Congregation Shaarai Shomayim. During that time, you have supported me, humored me, and sometimes, begrudgingly, given in to things I’ve asked of you. Just to think back on a few of these things, we have Mitzvah Day, we house homeless people, we try our hardest to avoid commerce on Shabbat and holidays, we raise Tzedakah Funds regularly, but you have been especially generous when we ask for specific things, we are sponsoring a refugee family. I’m gratified at how long the list gets when I think about it…
