The Chopped Liver River Band

The Chopped Liver River BandThe Chopped Liver River Band was formed in the late 1990s by a group of Chavrai Zamir members who, in addition to singing, find their passion for Jewish music in various other instruments. In 1999, Alan Levine joined the group and under his direction, they have grown to be one of the most-requested klezmer bands in Lancaster County. The band membership is comprised entirely of congregants, and Shaarai Shomayim is very proud to have them represent the Temple in and around the community.
The Chopped Liver River Band plays a variety of Jewish music which includes Klezmer music, Yiddish songs, Jewish show tunes, big band ,light jazz and comedy. The band has performed in all over the Lancaster and surrounding communities, including venues such as the Fulton Opera House, Longwood Gardens, the Harrisburg Arts Festival, and LancasterFest.
